When Kristen Almost Died At BlogHer
Monday, August 15, 2011
"One's friends are that part of the human race with which one can be human." ~George Santayana
Let me preface this by saying that there's a reason for why you never see video of me; because I get in front of a camera and behave like a total asshole. But hey! At least I am the first to admit that I'm over-dramatic, hyperbolic and perhaps some over use of hand gestures for no other reason than HANDS! I HAVE THEM! So...yeah. Anyway, I did a little something to explain why Kristen Howerton has been walking around with a bandage on her big toe for the last two weeks. Because she almost died on an escalator that's why. And I was there to witness the awful, the funny and the downright bloody.
Enjoy!

You should vlog more stories. You're funny in person.
Was it Firefly? We brought some of that stuff from Kiawah - OMG.
It was firefly sweet tea deliciousness vodka.
And I would vlog more often except that now I'm too busy worrying about the size of my head on screen. That and my cheeks. Oy. So this could become a blog/vlog/I need more therapy and self-esteem type space. Or not.
Tacy had to watch alongside me. She wants you to come visit again. So does CJ (but I suspect that what she really wants is Phineas and Ferb band-aids).
HeatherB. I fucking love you.
Also I'm now thinking about the scene in Mallrats where Jason Lee goes on a tirade about the dangers of escalators. I'd like you to next do an impression of that.
So glad I met you!
You need to blog more often, buttercup.
Also, the fact that you referenced Rescue 911 makes me love you more than I already do.
"This program contains true stories of rescues. All of the 911 calls you will hear are real. Whenever possible, the actual people involved have helped us recreate the events...dramatic pause...as they happened."
Also, I'm so glad Kristen is okay. ;0)
Okay. I love this. So much. The bloody toe photo? Yes. Best BlogHer story in the history of BlogHer.
I am still laughing that you had Phineas and Ferb bandaids at-the-ready. And a whole bottle of vodka in your purse.
But you forgot the part about how we found out that couple had tried to hustle their way into someone's room the night before. And the girl passing out and not wearing panties. Which reminds me . . . no matter how embarrassed I am, something could always be worse. At least I had on pants!
"Thank God there had been McDonald's to absorb the alcohol...." Oh wow. Hilarious. You should do more vlogs, you're a great storyteller!
Phineas and Ferb bandaids.
THIS is why I love you so.
Its so nice to see/hear you! I've read your blog for a few years now, and I think its cool to put a voice to the voice, you know. I have not yet been to blogher- it's on the life list- and I only have a little baby blog that I have been writing for a very short time now. Anyhoo. That sweet tea vodka is the business and I am glad you did not share with the mariott imposters who "work for the hotel". Also, glad your friend is ok. Escaltors = bad.
Oh and also, lovely necklace!
LMAO! I'm so glad Kristen was ok and she lived, because death by escalator would really suck.
Also, so glad I met you and Kristen. What a fun weekend!
